Last Call for New Volunteer Orientation in Destin Today
Based on data from 2015-16 school year and summer, FFT estimated over 6,000 total volunteer hours. What does that mean for the backpack program? It is like having 3 extra full-time employees for the year, at no cost!! This information is based off of serving 1,200 students in 2015-16. Projections calculate the number of students we serve will be double from the 2015-16 statistics to have a total of 2,400 students in 27 schools. With the new students comes a higher demand for volunteers; in short, we need volunteers!!
New Volunteer Orientation is today, March 22 and will be the last group session until this summer. Please plan to attend and bring a friend!!
4:30pm - Destin Pantry - 908 Airport Road

#YouCanHelp Food Drive
Thanks to the community for your involvement and our local preschools who helped kick off our Destin Food Drive for the month of February. We are excited to report that our food drive collected enough food items and donations to feed over 1,150 kids in March!! Our efforts to increase awareness in Okaloosa county continue to thrive. We need the continued mindfulness and support as we add three Okaloosa County schools and approximately 500 hungry students for the 2017-18 school year. The Food For Thought Pantries accept donations at both locations Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am-4pm. Thank you again to our local Preschools, Blaze 103.1 and KC's Sandbar, Whole Foods, and to the community in its entirety for recognizing this need. Click HERE for donation information.
