• Calling All Volunteers!

Calling All Volunteers! We need your help now that we are in full swing for the school year.

Each Thursday and Friday we deliver and distribute the backpacks of food at the schools and we need volunteers to assist in this process.  Do you live near a school? Are you an early bird and can take the van of backpacks to the schools early?! If so, we could use your help!

We also are starting back up the kitchen classes in the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Full Circle Kitchen.  You do not need to be a chef to teach these students how to cook! We are just looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are able to follow a recipe and lead kids in cooking a recipe - we keep the meals pretty simple so that they may be able to replicate at home.

If you are interested or available, please contact us via email here: volunteer@fftfl.org.

    Thank you!

  • Welcome, Lori Ward to the FFT Board of Directors!

We are thankful to have Lori Ward join the Food For Thought board of directors!
As a Board Certified Real Estate Attorney, her focus at Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon is on residential real estate transactions (although she’s done a bit a everything connected to real estate over her 20+ years in the area). Outside her 9-to-5 job, Lori is a serial volunteer and is a past president of the Junior League of the Emerald Coast, a founding Evergreen member of Impact 100 of Northwest Florida, current president of the Walton County Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors for Legal Services of North Florida, Inc.

Lori is excited to serve on the FFT Board of Directors as she has watched the organization grow since 2010 when her oldest was in elementary school, volunteered regulartly with ESC, and she is passionate about the mission of FFT and where it will grow in the future!

  • Immediate Volunteer Opportunities!

School has been in session for over a month now which means our programs are in full-swing and we need volunteers to help in a few areas!

    Immediate Volunteer Opportunities This Week:

    • Grayton Beer Oktoberfest (noon to 4pm) & Eggs on the Beach (10-1:30pm)
      • Both of these events are on Saturday, 9/28 and proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit Food For Thought
      • Both are fun events, but you will be on your feet
    • Backpack Delivery and Distribution Thursdays & Fridays
    • Kitchen Instructors for cooking classes in the Full Circle Kitchen (various dates this fall)

If you are available and interested, please email: volunteer@fftfl.org!

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Freeport Schools Added to FFT Program!

Food for Thought Outreach is officially adding both Freeport Middle and Freeport Elementary Schools into our services. With that said, we will now serve all 3 schools in Freeport, as we have only served the High School for many years. We are beginning enrollment now into the backpack program and will look to add volunteers and sponsors from the Freeport community to our organization.

We also want to thank our friends at Portland United Methodist Church for lending their hands to Food for Thought, and for all the work they have done over the years to also provide food for students at Freeport Middle and Freeport Elementary school!

If you or anyone you know might want to help, please reach out to us at volunteer@fftfl.org.

We are hoping to start back pack services next week!
