• Thank you Mercantile for your Continued Sponsorship

Food For Thought wouldn't be able to operate without the support of local businesses like Mercantile.  For the third year Mercantile remains steady in their commitment to fighting childhood hunger with Food For Thought.  Corporate sponsorships, such as this one, are critical to the advancement in our progress into the community and into more schools each year reaching more students, therefore, helping more kids focus on being a kid and not on wondering where their next meal will come from.

    Thank you Mercantile!!

  • Thank you Howard Hospitality for your Sponsorship

We can't say enough good things about Howard Hospitality!  They not only support FFT through corporate sponsorship, but they have an exceptional perspective as to what we do here because of their volunteerism in our Pantries and beyond.  They believed in the concept of building a kitchen and became a partner in that endeavor.  They celebrated with us as we unveiled our Full Circle Kitchen this month and we couldn't have done it without their faith in what we do.  We need people like those at Howard Hospitality just as much as these kids need their backpacks.  Thank you Howard Hospitality for your dedication to our mission.

  • Bud & Alley's Pizza Bar and Bud & Alley's to Host Benefit with Donner-Peltier Distillers

    For Immediate Release

Bud & Alley’s Pizza Bar and Bud & Alley’s to Host Benefit with Donner-Peltier Distillers

Seaside, FL – Local hot spots Bud & Alley’s Pizza Bar and Bud & Alley’s and Donner-Peltier Distillers will be hosting an “Evening of Giving Back” to benefit the charity, Food for Thought. The charity event will be held Saturday, August 27 from 5:00-10:00 p.m. at Bud & Alley’s Pizza Bar and Bud & Alley’s waterfront restaurant located at 2236 East County Road 30-A in Seaside.

The “Evening of Giving Back” is a series of charity events taking place at several Emerald Coast bars/restaurants throughout the summer, where proceeds from the sales of the cocktail dubbed Summer on 30A will benefit a local cause.

The series was the idea of Donner-Peltier Distillers’ Johnny Culpepper, who sought a way to introduce Donner-Peltier’s craft-distilled spirits to the Emerald Coast – with a little something extra to make it even more special. “After we debuted the Summer on 30A at a film festival in the area, it became quite apparent in a very short time that we had a winner on our hands; people immediately loved it! We figured it would be a wonderful thing to connect with more people but attach it to something greater — and that’s how the idea came into being,” said Culpepper. “The concept spread, and the local restaurateurs were eager to participate.”

The new Summer on 30A was invented by Corey Jernigan, head bartender at The Pearl Hotel in Rosemary Beach. It is a mix of Oryza® gin or vodka, lemon juice, watermelon, basil infused cane syrup, elderflower, and Giffard's Vanille du Madagascar. It is slightly tart, sweet, very aromatic, and an altogether refreshing summer treat.

Donner-Peltier is a locally-sourced, micro-distiller. Located in the heart of Louisiana’s sugar cane country, it is the only distiller in the world to make vodka from long-grain rice and rum from Louisiana sugarcane.

Founded in Thibodaux, Louisiana in 2012, Donner-Peltier Distillers has a diverse product line including Oryza Gin, Oryza Vodka, Rougaroux Sugarshine Rum, Rougaroux Full Moon Rum, Rougaroux 13 Pennies Praline Rum and LA1 Whiskey. In just a few short years, Donner-Peltier spirits have won numerous awards and genuine admiration throughout the region; and enjoy ever-increasing demand.
