    Job description

    Qualified candidates will already live in our service area of Walton or Okaloosa Counties. They will be willing and able to drive company vans as needed, operate warehouse equipment as needed and meet the basic physical demands of the work to operate ladders and lift at least 35 pounds.

    Strong written and oral communications skills are needed as this role will work with the public on a regular basis.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Program Coordinators work together to ensure the needs of the Organization’s programs are met and executed within the Mission and Values of Food for Thought Outreach. This position focuses on program prep, execution and follow-up. This position works with volunteers, partners and schools to provide services. This work is very hands-on and can be physically demanding. Coordinators go out into the community to deliver services and will work throughout our service area.

    As a team member of Food For Thought Outreach, we work together to fight childhood hunger in our community. Our Mission comes before all other tasks and duties. Team members are advocates and representatives of our work and hold a shared passion for the Mission and Values of our Organization. Growth is to be expected and welcomed in this work and will bring an ever-changing landscape for the team. As a member of a small team, we are all expected to share in the work from the day-to-day tasks to high-level strategy.

    ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:

    Food For Thought is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in Santa Rosa Beach, FL that provides backpacks filled with healthy, easy to prepare food for students who are dependent on free or reduced school meals. Our goal is to support a child’s development and educational experience by bridging the gap between school meals during weekends and holiday breaks. Food For Thought has been working to fight child hunger since 2010, and currently serves 32 schools in Walton and Okaloosa Counties, providing backpacks for 3,000 students each week.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour

    The holidays are a magical time for most. Unfortunately, many local families face a huge economic burden during the holidays, and prolonged stress related to food insecurity can get in the way of truly enjoying the holiday season with their loved ones.

    On average, students will miss 10 meals over Thanksgiving Break and 20 meals over Christmas break.

    Donate $40 today to feed one local family in need this holiday season.

    • For Thanksgiving and Christmas, Food For Thought will feed 700 families for each holiday meal curbside service
    • Each holiday meal service will provide food for the holiday meal + food for the holiday break + fresh produce
