• Thank you, grant and corporate sponsors!

We want to share a heartfelt thank you to all of our grant and corporate sponsors.  Without the support of the below foundations and businesses, Food For Thought would not be able to serve our community to fight childhood hunger, especially during this unique time when our food services have been modified and we have additional families recently utilizing Food For Thought to help feed their children.  Thank you!

    #GIVINGTUESDAYNOW | A GLOBAL DAY OF GIVING AND UNITY: MAY 5, 2020

On May 5, 2020 we come together as a global community...

To give. To help. To thank. To heal.

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of generosity and unity, a day to come

together and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by

COVID-19, no matter who or where we are.

For this day of giving, Food For Thought will be kicking off our Sponsor a Family Program, in order to continue to feed families over the summer months.  Typically, we feed 600 families each summer, but in the current environment, we know that the need will be ongoing and growing, so we expect this number to grow.

#HowWeHelp: By continuing to fight childhood hunger, and be a support of our community during this pandemic to ensure no one is left hungry while schools are closed

#YouCanHelp: By donating today. No amount is too small and all amounts add up to help fight the hunger gap.

  • #youcanhelp.

#youcanhelp. No amount is too little in order to help feed the students in our backpack program while schools are closed. Thank you to the schools in Walton and Okaloosa County that continue to offer meal pick-ups for lunch. As a community we can fight childhood hunger, even during this pandemic. • A Note For Our Volunteers

Since our modified services and volunteer schedule have been in place over the last month+, we wanted to reach out and just let you know that we miss all of you and are looking forward to the time when we can return to fuller volunteer shifts!

In the meantime, we at Food For Thought are continuing to follow CDC guidelines and social distancing guidelines, which is why our volunteer shifts have been fewer and less people assigned.  We also are trying to uphold the Stay Home order that is currently in place and protect our community and those we serve the best we can.

We hope that you are all doing well and stay safe and healthy.  As soon as anything may change to the guidelines in place, we will send out additional information on how it may/may not affect our current modified services.

  • Thank you, local businesses!

We are so grateful for all those in the community who are continuing to support Food For Thought during this crisis.  Below are a few examples of local businesses in our community who are helping to give back to Food For Thought during the Covid-19 situation:
    • Culver's in Miramar Beach - donating proceeds form their Frozen Custard
    • Whole Foods in Destin - providing pre-packed bags of food for customers to purchase
    • Beachy Blooms - donating a portion of proceeds from their bouquet Delivery
    • Cour Yoga - donating a portion of proceeds from online yoga classes
If you can stop by or support either of these businesses (while following the social distancing rules), please do! If you would like to support Food For Thought as a business, please reach out to Tiffanie. And thank to the many other volunteers and businesses who are helping to fight childhood hunger in our community!
