    Full Time Operations Manager 

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Operations Manager will work with the Executive Director and Food For Thought support team in the planning, execution and follow up fundraising events & functions, projects, membership drive and corporate sponsorship. The Operations Manager will also support the administrative duties related to the facilities, vendors, providers and partners for all projects and outreach efforts. This position works to bring together the members, volunteers, donors and sponsors through various events throughout the calendar year. The Operations Manager will ensure all daily needs of the business are met.

Team members are advocates and representatives of our work and hold a shared passion for the Mission and Values of our Organization. Growth is to be expected and welcomed in this work and will bring an ever-changing landscape for the team. As a member of a small team, we are all expected to share in the work from the day-to-day tasks to high-level strategy.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Updates and maintains the FFT Blog, e-mail blasts, web content and other outreach via mail, phone and social media

    • Responsible for select social media and web based support for the Organization

    • Creates tools and operating procedures necessary to maintain records and databases

    • Participates in all planning sessions for events, fundraisers and outreach functions

    • Responsible for auction support and planning

    • Maintains relationships with vendors, donors and sponsors within the community

    • Works with Project Coordinator to ensure tasks are completed

    • Regularly reports to Executive Director on all areas of the Organization

    • Must be present for all events and networking opportunities

    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

      SCHEDULE AND AVAILABILITY:

      Employees may be required to attend events and/or be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the Organization.

      KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

      Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to make quick and accurate decisions are essential. Positive and outgoing personality is a must. Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media networks.

      CONDITIONS OF WORK:

      While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to the elements including wet and/or hu- mid conditions, extreme heat, and rain. This position requires travel within the service areas of the organization and requires the employee the regularly drive a company vehicle. Employees are frequently required to use climb, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • 4th Annual ART of Giving this week!

    Tickets will be available at the door for our 4th Annual ART of Giving event on Thursday September 15th. The event will be held at the beautiful Churchill Oaks club house and feature 38 student art pieces along side pieces from our local artists partners. A handful of special silent auction packages will be offered during this event all in support of our work fighting childhood hunger!

  • Eggs On The Beach - September 24th

    Do you love grilling on the Big Green Egg?  Then this event is for you.  Show off your grilling skills at Seascape Resort in Miramar Beach and help to raise money for Food For Thought.  If you are interested in being a part of cook team please contact Kevin Boyle - kevin@poortruman.com.
