We hope that everyone is doing well for the start of 2021. Being half way through the 2020/21 School Year, we wanted to share an update on our services, including updates to our volunteer program and needs.

Updates:
  • New Volunteer Coordinator!
    • Please welcome Morgan Pixley who joined the team early this fall and has been leading the planning of our volunteer shifts.
  • Modified Backpack Services Re-Launched in Okaloosa County
    • Since the end of January, we have been able to deliver backpacks of food to the schools in Okaloosa County instead of the curbside services
Volunteer Needs
  • Full Circle Garden Help (Destin)
    • With Spring quickly approaching, we are in need of a few volunteers to help maintain the garden at the Destin Pantry (weekly), along with help planting and harvesting the garden
  • Support for Okaloosa County Modified Backpack program
    • Assistance packing bags (Wednesday - Destin Pantry) and delivering the bags of food to the schools in Okaloosa County
  • New Upcoming Opportunities in Walton County
    • There will be some changes in our volunteer needs the end of February; details are still TBD, but we are looking specifically for volunteers able to help in Walton County

If you have any questions and/are able to assist with any of the above programs, please reach out to Morgan via email: morgan@fftfl.org

*We continue to follow all health and safety protocol for all volunteer shifts; limiting groups to 10 or less, requiring face masks and implementing social distancing as much as possible. Learn more here

Thank you for your continued support, especially as we know there have been changes to our volunteer program this past year; we appreciate you and your service to help us fight food insecurity!
